The island of Mallorca is divided into 6 regions. Although this division does not have an official status, it is the most used one to refer to the different areas of the island, and it is recognised amongst the geographer community.

The following is a list of the 6 regions with the municipalities that make them up. Nova Gestio Real Estate works mainly in the areas of Llevant and Migjorn, but also in some parts of the region Pla de Mallorca; the towns marked with a * are our main area of activity:

LEVANTE or LLEVANT
This region refers to the East and North-East area of the island. Its main county is Manacor. It includes the following municipalities:

MIGJORN
Migjorn is the region located in the Southern part of Mallorca, the South and South-East area. Its capital is Llucmajor and it is composed by five towns:

  • Ses Salines*

PLA DE MALLORCA or ES PLA or LLANURA DE MALLORCA
This region is the one located in the centre of the island. It includes the following municipalities:

  • Llubí
  • Maria de la Salut
  • Montuïri
  • Muro
  • Petra*
  • Porreres*
  • Sant Joan*

PALMA DE MALLORCA
Palma de Mallorca (officially Palma) is the island’s capital city and is located in the South-West of the same. Its municipality extends between the mountain range Na Burguesa and the Sant Jordi meadow.

RAIGUER or ES RAIGUER
Es Raiguer is the region located in the central North part of Mallorca, the one that extends in parallel to the Tramontana mountain range from Marratxí to Alcúdia. Its county capital is Inca and it includes the following municipalities:

SIERRA DE TRAMONTANA
The Tramontana mountain range (Serra de Tramuntana in Catalan) is the main highland of the Balearic Islands. It is located in the North-West of Mallorca, hence its name, as the Tramontana is the wind that arrives from that direction. This region does also include the West of the island. Its capital is Sóller and it is composed by the following towns:
